Mira, full steam ahead with Ettore Botticini

Young and extraordinarily talented, the Maremma sailor Ettore Botticini is
today the leading athlete of the Circolo Nautico and Vela Argentario.

Born in Orbetello , class of 1996, he began practicing sailing at a young age
showing off their qualities in their home waters, until they obtained 4
prestigious world titles and 5 Italian titles in various disciplines including Match
Race (typical America's Cup format).

In 2019 he was among the first Italians to specialize and debut in the world of foiling
or what we commonly call "flying boats", continuing to
but maintain contact with traditional boats, with which it competes in the most prestigious circuits such as the Rolex Giraglia, the Copa de Rey and Les Voiles de St Tropez.

In 2021 Ettore was appointed skipper for the Italian consortium Young
Azzurra, a project born to represent the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda at the Youth America's Cup in Auckland , the project was desired and managed by Princess Zahra Aga Khan.

Mira aims to share the style and values of Maremma outside its own
natural borders , thus marrying with the project that Ettore is carrying forward,
sailing professional, bringing the name of Argentario throughout the world.

We are therefore at the beginning of a new collaboration, born from the mutual desire to
mix the unique Maremma style with a technical and sporting discipline
fascinating, both aware of the many points of contact that these two philosophies have.

Teamwork, respect, protection of the environment and at the same time sharing the Maremma style and tradition.

In view of the first international events of 2024, Ettore is training off the Giannella cove, in the centre of the bay, with an exceptional setting:
the Maremma hinterland on one side, the cradle and beating heart of Mira Capalbio , the
pearls of our archipelago on the other, a rich horizon and, on clear days,
very rich.

Tacking, luffing and jibing, trajectories dictated by skill and experience, Ettore enjoys himself aboard his Waszp in his inexorable dance with his ally, the invisible and perpetual wind.

For us it is an honor and a great incentive to take part in this wonderful dance dictated by the breeze, for this reason we will follow Ettore throughout his 2024 sailing season around the world, one appointment after another.

The seasonal goal is the 2024 Waszp World title , which will be up for grabs at
August in Sandefjord in Norway and Ettore, fresh from 9th place at the last World Championship in Melbourne , will be among the favourites.

We will keep you updated on our social pages, behind every goal there is a long preparation, which in this case includes several regattas and training around the world!
